I loved this book.
Chase Day's past comes and smacks him right in the face when he gets a call from his mother whom he thought had died many years ago. What he knew to be his story is proving to be just that a story and his past is falling apart and leading him into danger trying to find the truth.
I love everything about this book. The characters are well developed and complex, the plot is ever changing and tense as well as thrilling. You wonder right along with Chase who can be trusted, who is a friend and who isn't. I like a book that keeps you guessing and not predictable this is just that.
I found myself holding my breath at times when it seems Chase was going to be caught and other times I felt his emotions when he started unraveling what was his life until now.
This is such a good book I can't find enough words to describe how good it is. I hope that Daryl Wood Gerber will have many more thrillers to come, she has a niche for weaving an amazing, thrilling story that keeps you captivated and absorbed in the story from the beginning to the end.
I would in my own rating system give this book 5++ bookmarks it is so exceptional

Days of Secrets by Daryl Wood Gerber is action packed and filled with suspense. Twists and turns as you go along on the dangerous ride with Chase Day. Chase is surprised/shocked to be contacted by his mother who had been dead, he thought. She asks him to find and protect a father he never really knew.
I was drawn into this book with the vivid descriptions that put pictures into my mind as I read. I was right there with Chase every step he took to get answers.

Chase Is shocked when he's contacted by his mother after all she had died years ago. When he goes to meet her, he finds someone shot her and she's dying. With her last breath, she asks him to protect the father he never knew. What's going on? Chase is a powerful character. He's smart and savy. I was with him every step of the way as he searches for answers. The suspense keeps building as Chase works to find the secrets from his past. The twists and turns kept me off base. I couldn't stop reading. I loved that nothing was what it seemed. I was hooked. Chase Day and all the secondary characters kept me up late. Daryl Wood Gerber has outdone herself with this powerful story of murder and mayhem.

Chase Day never knew who his father was, but when he learns of his identity, he finds himself in a dangerous race against time to find his father and discover just what secret he has that could turn the world upside down.
I loved the book and could not put it down. It was intense, fast reading, and the characters were very believable, from Chase's friends to those who would do anything to keep Chase from discovering his father's secret. Day of Secrets is a great thriller with many twists and turns and kept me turning pages as fast as I could read. I highly recommend this book -- it will definitely keep you reading into the night!
Imagine getting a phone call from your long dead mother, racing to meet her, and finding her shot and dying. This starts a fast paced thrill ride that keeps you guessing.
Chase Day is a man that has had more than his fair share of issues but he's worked hard to overcome his past. He has gone from troubled teen, to solder, to history professor. He drops everything to try to piece together the past he thought he knew. Too many details will spoil the book, but just buy it and read it. If you like fast thrillers, you won't be disappointed.
Daryl Wood Gerber, (aka Avery Ames), writes several amazing and entertaining cozy mystery series and is an author I pre-order because I'm never disappointed. Last year she wrote her debut thriller, Girl on the Run. She writes a great story no matter the genre.
Day of Secrets is the second thriller-type mystery from Daryl Wood Gerber and it is spectacular!
Wow. That was the first word that came out of my mouth when I finished this book yesterday evening on my evening break. The second phrase was "Holy Toledo that was intense!" Both of which are dead-on accurate.
This was a pretty great read! I fell in love with the characters almost immediately. Chase is a great guy. He's well-rounded and complex. He's had a lot of crap happen in his life, but he seems fairly well-adjusted. Especially for suddenly having to deal with the fact that his mother wasn't really dead, but now she is; his father's alive and apparently in trouble; and his grandmother doesn't seem to be in a hurry to tell him anything about these things.
This story moved along at a pace between steady and fast. It was fast-paced, but not so fast that you couldn't follow the story line and/or got lost in the details. I think I described it to my mom as "a cliff-hanger on every other page". That was a slight exaggeration, but not by much! The action in this book really keeps the story hopping!
I thought the ending was terrific. Things worked out the way they were supposed to and you got the feeling that all the major players were going to be alright after their run-in with the villains.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good suspenseful thriller that doesn't have a lot of gruesome, violent scenes! Buy it. Read it. Enjoy it!
